Red Hook Soul is a party album varying from retro dance grooves swimming in percussive nuance to riveting jam band forays. The ballads are gorgeous and completely free of affectation. After hearing the band in a Brooklyn bar, producer Andy Taub invited the band into his Brooklyn studio. Red Hook Soul is about Blake's real life nitty gritty experiences playing in the dive bars of NYC. There are a few originals and covers of Gladys Knight, Otis Redding, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Ray Charles and Lana Del Rey.

"Red Hook Soul is a rollicking, joyous bounce. The music just cruises like a partying group of friends barreling down a highway in an open convertible on a sunny day."Ralph Miriello - The Huffington Post
